What You Can Do to Help Get PHIT Passed

There are a variety of ways to get involved to help get PHIT passed.  Any participation is gladly received, as the effort spans all stakeholders in the fitness movement, working harmoniously to have a positive impact on society.

While it’s true that the profit motive is instrumental in business, the reality is that the vast majority of fitness studios and fitness professionals entered the business with an overwhelming desire to help people lead healthier and happier lives.  There is no shame in earning a living doing good for society.  More than likely, most studio owners – knowing their skills sets - could make a lot more money in other vocations.

Here are some options for you to help the PHIT cause.

Educate

Learn all you can about the PHIT Act itself, PHIT America (the grass roots movement to get PHIT written into law), and the organizations behind it such as Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA).  Opt in to receive regular communications and updates on the value of fitness to the health of society as well as our progress in Washington, DC.

Advocate

Contact your members of Congress to support legislation that will “Help America Get PHIT.”  With 2016 being an election year, there’s no better time than now to make your voice known.  And PHIT is a non-partisan initiative – one of the few issues in America that brings together both sides of the political aisle.  Who knows?  Perhaps PHIT can be the catalyst to more harmony in Congress.

Volunteer

Help spread the word. Be part of our PHIT America network.  This can be as simple as posting information in your studio and communicating your commitment to the effort to your clients and members.  Not only does it help the PHIT movement, but it also shows your customers that you’re part of a larger effort to contribute to the wellbeing of society – and so should they.

Donate

Make a donation to PHIT America.  This is an easy means of participating, and certainly welcome, regardless of the size of the donation.
