FBA Joins World Active
"Aimed at Uniting the Health, Fitness, and Physical Activity Sector Globally"
(MINNEAPOLIS, MN, April 4, 2023) – The Fitness Business Association (FBA) today proudly announced its participation in and full support of World Active. World Active, formerly the World Active 
Forum, is a worldwide platform, and future federation, that unites the health, fitness and physical activity sector globally.
“All of us at the FBA are proud to support and have an active role in World Active," said Josh Leve, FBA founder, and CEO. “Uniting associations around the world that share a common goal is a powerful initiative that we're confident will drive the fitness industry forward. We look forward to the road ahead.”
Initially launched in June 2022, the World Active brings together stakeholders from all continents to debate the industry's common opportunities and challenges, speak with a unified voice, and promote health and well-being worldwide through collaboration and innovation.
Realizing the need for a unified stance, organizations in the United States on board to support World Active currently include:
- American Council on Exercise
- Fitness Business Association
- IDEA Health and Fitness Association
- Medical Fitness Association
As World Active grows, it is expected to serve as a transparent and inclusive representative body to exchange best practices, enhance collaboration with international institutions, such as the World Health Organization, and discuss the latest dynamics and trends in and around the sector. World Active will enable information and knowledge-sharing among all its stakeholders.
The first physical World Active gathering of representatives will culminate during FIBO Global Fitness in Cologne via the World Active Summit. The Summitt will be a unique opportunity for key stakeholders from the sector all over the world to exchange best practices, network, and learn from each other. The Chairs of World Active's Working Groups will also present their work from the summer of 2022, as well as the short and long-term plans for their respective focus areas.
As part of its open-door policy, World Active invites all stakeholders who share its mission and vision to join its unifying global movement for the fitness and physical activity industry. By collaborating across the sector worldwide, the fitness and physical activity sector can overcome its challenges, effectively pursue its opportunities and unfold its full potential as societal health and wellbeing. Based on its motto 'more people, more active, more often' World Active's members, through their new global representative body, are firmly committed to working for a physically active, healthier world.
