ISSA Becomes AFS Sponsor; Will Have Major Presence at SUCCEED! 2020

‘Hosting DNA Testing and the Future of Fitness Seminar’

(MINNEAPOLIS, MN, PHOENIX, AZ, February 18, 2020)  – The Association of Fitness Studios (AFS) and the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) today jointly announced that ISSA has become a sponsor of AFS and will host a dynamic seminar at SUCCEED! 2020 - DNA Testing and the Future of Fitness.

As the leader in fitness education, ISSA delivers easy-to-follow comprehensive online courses based on leading industry research and designed to prepare trainers for long-term success. Founded in 1988 by Dr. Sal Arria and Dr. Frederick Hatfield, ISSA now offers 20 fitness certifications and has certified over 300,000 trainers in 143 countries.

“ISSA has proven to be a major certifying body for fitness professionals,” said Josh Leve, AFS founder and CEO.  We are very pleased that they have partnered with AFS to deliver incredible education at SUCCEED! and beyond.”

Centered with a mission of “bringing healthy living to everybody in the world through education and community” and a vision “to connect 100 million people to the power of health living by 2030,” ISSA takes its leadership position seriously.

Continuing to pioneer the personal training certification industry, ISSA has launched the one-of-a-kind DNA-Based Fitness Coach certification. This groundbreaking program provides personal trainers and fitness professionals the knowledge, skills and ability to create specific programs based on their client’s DNA test results.

“This is a game changer for fitness and nutrition professionals,” said ISSA’s CEO Andrew Wyant. “Applying a client’s genetic make up to their exercise response unlocks secrets to individual roadblocks. Personal trainers can now understand how a client’s body naturally burns fat in response to exercise and will significantly change their results.”

“We look forward to delivering this game changing presentation at SUCCEED!,” Wyant continued. “Technology has provided tools that give us the ability to be enormously more effective in helping our clients achieve their objectives.”

ISSA’s seminar (Saturday May 2 at 2:30pm) will be presented by Erin Mahoney, a 20 year veteran of the health and fitness industry. She started in club and personal training management and transitioned into fitness education and credentialing. She led the product team at NASM for 8 years, then went on to provide consulting services to LifeTime Education, and now represents ISSA as the VP in Product Strategy and Development.
