Petra Robinson has been a fitness industry business development entrepreneur and consultant for over 35 years. Using her unique creative talents and industry contacts, she has established a distinctive niche for herself within the fitness industry taking concepts and helping turn them into well-known brands such as AFAA, Zumba, Piloxing and Balletone.

Petra has been serving as liaison between Zumba Fitness and the Fitness Industry for over 13 years, by directing the growth of Zumba Fitness via strategic alliances, conventions & special events, new educational programs and overall brand awareness worldwide.

For ten years, Petra served as Vice President of Promotions and Marketing for the Aerobics & Fitness Association of America, (AFAA) where during her tenure she developed business relationships between AFAA and numerous other leading fitness organizations, companies and contributed to the growth of AFAA globally. She produced the Sundance and Tone Aerobics Championships in the USA and served as Technical Judge for the Suzuki World Cup International Aerobics Championships.

While Petra is definitely business focused, she has always loved and participated in dance and sports; as aerobics became popularized, she dove right into the trenches teaching aerobic dance, nationally and internationally. She was one of the first USA fitness professionals to travel overseas in the ‘80s, spending a good amount of time in the Middle East in Saudi Arabia and Iran. Her nickname in those days was “Jane Fonda of Arabia”.

During the dot.com craze she served as Vice President of business development for StayHealthy.com and was co-founder and Executive Vice President of www.healthclub.com “The Yellow Pages of Fitness” Petra has provided her fitness industry expertise to a wide range of companies such as the International Strength and Conditioning Association (ISCA), The BoxAerobics Program with “Thomas The Promise” and Balletone, the Dancer’s Workout for Everybody, Jari Love’s Get RIPPED program, Corebar, Jungshin Fitness and Pound Rockout Workout. In the late ‘80’s she served as Corporate Fitness Program Director for L.A. Fitness Health Clubs.

Today she is inspired once again by the passion and positive energy of companies such as Zumba, Piloxing, programs that are ‘inter-disciplinary’ and providing creative fitness alternatives to people all over the world. She currently serves as an advisor to Century Martial Arts and most recently has been selected to be on the Association of Fitness Studios Advisory Council.

Born in Germany, Petra resides in San Diego, CA, is married to a physicist, has three sons and one grandson.
