AFS, Club Industry Renew Conference
 Educational Affiliation Agreement

(OAKLAND, CA, May 18, 2016) – The Association of Fitness Studios (AFS) and Club Industry have announced the renewal of their affiliation agreement in which AFS will provide fitness studio-centric education at the 2016 Club Industry Show in Chicago.

The four-session series of seminars will be spread over two days, with morning sessions on Thursday, October 13, and Friday, October 14.  The AFS lineup of speakers will again highlight industry experts conveying relevant information for studio owners and fitness professionals aspiring to ownership. AFS members also receive 25% off!

"We’re very happy to again participate at Club Industry," said AFS founder and CEO Josh Leve whose presentation State of the Fitness Studio Industry will lead off the AFS sessions on Thursday morning. "We’re particularly pleased to contribute to the new Club Industry location which we believe will produce a real shot in the arm for the event.  We’re excited!”

In addition to Leve’s presentation, the AFS education will include:

  • How Pricing & Programming Define Your Brand, presented by Dr. Kevin Steele;
  • The Latest Studio Research and How to Apply It, presented by Stephen Tharrett;
  • Using Core Competencies to Create Systems that Scale Your Boutique Fitness Organization, presented by J. Lee Vallely and Elisabeth Kristof, co-owners of RedBird Pilates & Fitness

Another advantage to attending the AFS sessions is that participants will earn continuing education credits (CECs) from a variety of certifying organizations.

“We’ve very pleased to welcome AFS back for the third consecutive year,” said Pam Kufahl, Director of Content and Engagement at Club Industry. “Josh and his speakers can be counted on to provide quality, unbiased information based on solid data."

The 2016 Club Industry Show will mark the first time since the first few years of the show more than 30 years ago that the event – when in Chicago - will not be in the mammoth McCormick Place, opting instead for the more intimate hotel environment of the Hyatt Regency Chicago.  The decision to relocate resonates with the fitness industry eager for greater networking and engagement opportunities.

“As an annual Club Industry exhibitor and AFS educational sponsor, we couldn’t be happier with the relocation decision,” said Jennifer Lowe, National Accounts Manager at Sports & Fitness Insurance Corporation.  “We’re looking forward to a much stronger event.”
